The Depth Box Jump
The depth jump is a great way to practice jumping and landing mechanics, however, its main purpose is to improve reaction time.
To set up, stand on a small box or stable object, step off the box with one foot but land on the ground with two AT THE SAME TIME, and quickly jump onto a higher box.
The goals of this exercise are…
1) To minimize ground-contact time (time spent on ground mid jump)
2) Try to be as tall as possible during the jump
3) Time the arm swing to improve your tallness mid-jump
4) Do not stomp on to the box (ninja feet)
