Get to Know Coach Brian
Coach Brian has been lifting for over 14 years, and coaching strength training and weightlifting for 5 Years.
As the Owner of Big Bend Strength & Conditioning, and the Head Coach of Team Big Bend Weightlifting, Brian pulls coaching concepts from his main coaching influences, Glenn Pendlay of Cal Strength and MuscleDriver fame, and Julien Pineau, owner of Strongfit, to help provide clients with the best possible training programs for them, while keeping things simple and safe!
Brian’s specialties are in Olympic Weightlifting, having recently coached an athlete to the Junior World Championships, 4 State Championship Medalists, and even more to compete at the Youth and Junior National Championships. He also specializes in General Strength development for busy professionals who want to train for long term strength, and are willing to put in the work to make sure they are squatting into their 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s.
The type of client that fits Brian’s coaching style best is what he calls the “Zen” lifter. This client is not frustrated by making technical improvements, but is also able to celebrate small wins. If you are a self-labeled perfectionist, then Brian might not be the coach for you! Brian’s clients need to be able to see the long term picture, and know that keeping things simple and making small changes to training, instead of focusing on flashy/trendy training styles will always work the best.
