Stop Doing Hangs!
I’ve never really understand the fascination with hang snatches or cleans. maybe it’s just how people learn them at first, but I find that for the most part, people that do hangs tend to be worse from the floor than they are from the knee.
Why are they done in the first place? The main goal is to reinforce good technique at the particular area that the hang is done from, whether above the knee, below the knee, or anywhere else. Instead of doing hangs, I recommend doing Pause Lifts.
Pause Lifts allow the lifter to practice the lift from the ground as they do in competition, but also allow the lifter to improve technique at the particular area they pause at.
